Founder and Vilnius-native Vigita Garbuzaite set out to create stylish rainwear that's also exceptionally functional. How do you continue to innovate and create fresh designs for such a classic staple piece?
When we design Ducktail Rainwear, we like to mix things up with a modern twist while keeping that timeless charm intact. We're all about blending tradition with creativity and new things like materials, techniques, and styles. Our design crew is always on the lookout for what's hot, drawing inspiration from everywhere and bouncing ideas off each other. Plus, we're big on hearing what our customers have to say—it helps us keep up with what they're into. By staying curious, flexible, and open to new ideas, we keep pushing the envelope and bringing you fresh yet classic designs.
What inspired your newest collectsion?
The inspiration behind our newest collectsion, particularly our beloved Marila raincoat, stemmed from a combination of reflecting on the passing year and the desire to create a product that embodies durability, timelessness, and functional details. Our environment, both magical and mundane, served as an authentic muse for this design journey. The name "Marila," derived from the Latin name for a species of ducks, resonated with us like a catchy tune, adding a playful element to the creation process.
Designed with the modern individual in mind, Marila is tailored for those who lead vibrant lifestyles yet seek solace in nature's embrace. Its oversized silhouette embraces the fluidity of movement, while practical features like the removable face mask and reflective accents ensure functionality, especially during darker hours. Our logo, an origami duck, adorns the raincoat, symbolizing our commitment to attention to detail and sustainability.
