Go for a Swim
Sporty chic, frilly and fun, shorts on shorts—our favorite swimwear brands are breaking down their latest collectsions and the trends that'll have us afloat.
Hakea

"From our perspective, the direction continues to lean toward sporty but chic silhouettes, swim that feels functional for the ocean but still considered and fashion-forward. Pieces that balance practicality with a refined aesthetic are resonating most with our customers. And boardshorts are back!
In terms of trends, we’re seeing a continued interest in cut-outs and subtle design details that elevate otherwise minimal silhouettes. One piece we’re particularly excited about this season is a bikini featuring silver eyelet detailing, which adds a slightly unexpected hardware element while still keeping the look clean and minimal."
—Casey Eastwell, Hakea Owner
Elegant and functional, Hakea is designed to inspire confidence with thoughtful shapes and styles that celebrate the diversity of the female form. Created by graphic designer Casey Eastwell, after her own search for a modern update on sun protective swimwear that was flattering, supportive and versatile during her time as a surfer and traveler. The result is a line of function-forward swimsuits in earthy tones that you’ll never want to take off.
Galamaar

"We are bringing back all the best sellers in new prints and colorways, but really loving some of the new styles, including the Band Brief and Billie Wire Top. The Billie looks good on every shape, but the top is especially great for larger busts as it is super supportive and comfortable with wide, soft shoulder straps. We are also introducing the Tanga, which is our first thong coverage. It is clean-finished, has a high leg, and is super flattering."
—Blakely Wickstrom, Galamaar Owner
Galamaar is timeless swimwear made for the contemporary woman and produced locally in Los Angeles. Created by California native, nature enthusiast, and designer Blakely Wickstrom, the brand combines east coast practicality and west coast cool for straightforward, elevated takes on traditional swimwear styles. Pieces are also crafted from sustainable, environmentally-sound fabrics with a high-quality durability that lasts through any season.
mare perpetua

"I'm super excited for sleek pieces that are comfy and chic alongside the extra bold, frilly pieces—I love having a mix of sporty and ultra feminine together! That was kind of my goal with this season. And that they are wearable outside of swim environments, too."
—Helena Paul, Mare Perpetua founder
Mare Perpetua sets out to design swimsuits that feel as good as they look—soft, luxurious, and consciously made. Each piece is crafted to sculpt and support, to move with the body, and to endure season after season. The result: timeless silhouettes that hold their shape, defy trends, and leave the wearer feeling effortlessly beautiful.
RENDL

"Things we're seeing:
Shiny material. We have a new, shiny material in our collectsion, available in three tones: night blue, sky blue and coral.
Shorts. In our opinion, shorts are a big trend for swimwear. We have a swimsuit with shorts and also hot pants for bikini bottoms.
Pink. Pink shades are trendy again, especially in activewear and swimwear."
