Sombr Takes Us Behind the Scenes of His First Headlining Tour

What does an internationally famous, 20-year-old musician do on his very first world tour? Well, if you’re Sombr, you “find the nearest vintage shop and take all the good stuff,” which is just what the singer-songwriter did when he arrived in London for the British leg of his The Late Nights & Young Romance Tour. A helpful thrifting tip? “You should be able to show a little belly,” he says. “I feel like that’s important.”

Vogue caught up with Sombr mid-sound check, when he opened up about his life’s dizzying highs lately. “A year ago, I never thought it would be possible to play shows as a headliner for even a thousand people. Being in the position I’m in now is just more than I could ever ask for, and I’m so grateful, and I’ll never take it for granted.”

Sombr’s favorite song to perform live right now? His latest banger “Homewrecker,” of course (it’s inspired some pretty great merch, too). He’s happily adjusting to exploring every city his tour visits, but he’s also thrilled to see a familiar face from home—his dad, Andy Boose—before he goes onstage. As Sombr shouts out his Vogue World 2025 cameo, goofs around with his band, and discusses the joys of putting outfits together (with influences including Mick Jagger and David Bowie), it’s hard not to get caught up in his infectious energy—and that’s just in a video!
