If you’ve looked around recently and wondered if you’ve somehow time traveled to 1999, you’re not the only one. The Y2K trend is still alive and well, most recently in the form of parachute pants. In case you weren’t alive when they first hit the scene, parachute pants are made with lightweight material and have a baggy silhouette, plus the key feature of a drawstring waist and ankle (hence, the parachute moniker).
Today’s look is more updated jogger than boy-band chic, with less of a drop crotch and fewer gaudy zippers. They’re more breezy and billowy than a cargo pant, but you can style them similarly. Pair your parachutes with a mesh top or cropped sweatshirt. And while it may seem like a pant reserved for summertime, they’ll look great with a blazer and a beanie all fall.
