We could write a book about all the things we love about Seattle. Our hometown offers amazing outdoor activities, the best coffee out there, and (our favorite) great boutiques. As the birthplace of the grunge movement, we also covet our cozy flannels and loud music. Whether you’re a local, transplant, or just admiring our city from afar, here are some of our go-to shops that really embody that Emerald City energy.
Auralie is a female-run concept shop, founded by Tessa Aurelia Jennifer. While pregnant with her first child, Tessa began to see the act of getting dressed as a gesture of care, ritual, and self-love. Auralie is centered around lines who embody this same ethos, a like minded community of individuals who bring things into the world with this same spirit of intentionality, quality, and longevity. In Latin, ‘Aurelia’ translates to ‘golden.’ Behind the name is the idea that, at the core of our being, we all have pure, flawless soul just like gold.
Designed in Seattle and handmade in their NYC studio, Juliette Fabbri coaxes crisp cotton shirting into cocoon-like shapes meant for layering and unlayering. They’re a nod to everyone who has ever slept in someone else’s worn-in button-up oxford. Juliette created this brand as a way to explore and design clothes that help us feel beautiful, interesting, and comfortable—when we connect with these essential states, everything else is just that much more possible.
Tucked away in Seattle’s historic Georgetown neighborhood, this minimalist shop brings together local and international designers with a dynamic POV. Owner Gabby Klingman (a Seattle native, lover of travel and industry veteran) meticulously selects a roster of lust-worthy brands like Rachel Comey, Ganni, and Gat Rimon. Find the perfect date-night dress, that much-needed pair of slouchy trousers, or a flawlessly fitting t-shirt in this multifaceted boutique.
Set in Seattle’s quirky, charming Fremont neighborhood, PIPE AND ROW is an independent clothing and lifestyle shop that carries unique, wearable clothing and accessories curated from near, far, and wide. Owner Kayla Boehme’s expert edit encourages discovering new closet-worthy finds, with pieces from established and emerging men's and womenswear brands that are chosen to highlight and embrace individual style.
A mother-daughter operation with design based in Seattle and production based in a small factory in Colombia, this lingerie shop has over 20 years of experience crafting pretty things with beautiful fabrics. The line was originally founded in 1993 in Santa Marta, Colombia, and their Pacific Northwest location opened in 2009. Their underpinnings are made with breathable cotton, silk, and lace for easy wear and a mastery of layering.
