Designer Selects | Vol. 15
Sydney Pimbley
British designer Sydney Pimbley is defined by her commitment to slow fashion. Her use of vintage fabrics, trims, and embroidery reflects a couture sensibility and mastery of technique and craftsmanship. The designer’s latest collectsion, Flower Duet, synthesizes two great personal passions, horticulture and fashion, exploring the physical and visual duality of colors and textures in nature.
Luna del Pinal
British vanguard and Guatemalan artisanship find harmonious kinship in Spanish designer Luna del Pinal’s destination-led womenswear brand. Her close relationship with Guatemalan artisans has led to collaborations on pieces that reflect the time-honored textile art of Guatemala as well as the designer’s avante-garde experimentation.
Luna Del Pinal

Luna Del Pinal is the joint effort of textile designers Gabriela Luna and Corina del Pinal, whose joint resume includes gigs at Gareth Pugh, Christopher Kane, and JW Anderson. The duo took to Guatemala to immerse themselves in ancient weaving techniques, with a particular focus on backstrap weaving. Mesmerized by the artistic heritage of the country, Luna Del Pinal was born. The brand is committed to slow, responsible fashion and does so in part by employing the indigenous craftspeople of Guatemala to create the designer’s forward-thinking styles.
Rachel Comey
A household name for quietly cool fashion, Rachel Comey crafts looks that mix modern silhouettes with a bohemian arts-and-craft aesthetic. The American designer launched her womenswear label in 2004 and has earned a cult following for her chic and wearable collectsions.
Audrey Louise Reynolds
Audrey Louise Reynolds takes fabric dyeing to the next level. With easy jumpsuits and sweatshirts as her canvas, the designer conceives beautiful color palettes and free-form patterns through dye experimentation. She uses all-natural ingredients sourced from daily life—everything from minerals, seaweed, squid ink, coral, shells, plankton, flowers, and soil.—to create each handmade piece in her collectsion.
Coperni
French designers Sébastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant of Coperni emphasize a clean linear aesthetic that feels sporty and structural for their ready-to-wear and accessories label. Their handbags are especially celebrated—classic silhouettes like the baguette and the saddle are reinterpreted in a starkly minimal way that recalls the mod movement of the 1960s.
