Our Childhood Looks Making a Comeback
They say that fashion repeats itself so if anything you love falls out of style, just hold on. For us, that means some of our favorite looks from childhood are now trending. The Top Quality Replica Hermes Belts team took a nostalgic look at current pieces that make us feel like very cool kids again.
Mary Janes + Socks
I think I wore a combination of frilly beaded socks and Mary Janes every day of my life until fourth grade when I started telling my mom I'd be dressing myself (which mainly meant I switched out what I thought were embarrassing kid shoes for Heelys). But after 20 years, I've realized that my mom was onto something. The Mary-Jane-sock combination is the perfect way to wear a classic shoe with a little bit of personality.
Ball + Chain Jewelry
Growing up in the Catholic school system, soft acts of rebellion were vital to my sense of self. Yes, I am an Aquarius sun and rising...how did you know? One of these small rebellious acts was accessorizing my uniform with anything deemed alt or counter culture. Enter the ball chain necklace. Few things made me feel as much like the self-appointed school contrarian than walking down the halls with my chunky ball chain around my neck. Looking back, I can’t really say I was wrong—ball chains are simultaneously the cutest shaped jewelry with the toughest persona.
Wide Leg Denim + Chunky Belts
Wide leg denim paired with a chunky belt takes me right back to my childhood. My sister’s closets were filled with gems like this back in the day and I have so many memories of playing dress up in all of their outfits that were four sizes two big. To be quite honest, it’s always a nice surprise to find these nostalgic trends coming back into style, but this one will forever be my favorite.
Skorts
I recently saw a video on TikTok where an adorable Gen Z’er discovered skorts like they were a brand new thing, which made me feel simultaneously very old and very nostalgic. Honestly, though, there’s never been a better time in my life for a skort. I’m still interested in miniskirts but the prospect of a wardrobe malfunction keeps me from them, thus a skort is the solution to this particular sartorial problem.
