Down in Miami, Valentino Hosted a Little Cocktail Party

“Cocktail Hour,” generally speaking, begins around 5 pm. At Art Basel Miami, Champagne can be served at any time. Yesterday, Valentino kicked off the festivities at noon. Under the hot Floridian sun, the brand toasted its Party Collection. 

In the garden at the Rubell Museum, mannequins posed on blankets and pillows like elegant picnickers. To tracks spun by DJ Zack Bia, silver trays of gin and tonics circulated as guests admired the sequined frocks. Conversations buzzed with gossip from the week. (Quite a few attendees were still recovering from the debauchery of the Loewe / GayLetter bacchanal at Twist the night before.) 

Afterward, guests attended a festive lunch at (where else?) Strawberry Moon, the Ken Fulk designed haunt at the Goodtime Hotel. The talented and eclectic guest list reflected the vibrancy of the week itself. Models (Jordan Barrett, Devon Windsor) mused with musicians (24kGoldn, Kitty Ca$h, the Misshapes). Society swans (Sarah Hoover, Hannah Brofman) reviewed exhibitions with social media royalty (Blake Gray, Camila Coelho).

In a week when the party never stops, Valentino proved yet again that it knows how to dress―and host―those who want to celebrate.
