Madhappy Hosted an Aspen Weekend to Get High on Life and the Outdoors

Founded four years ago, Madhappy is a next-gen streetwear brand that moves away from the steely exclusivity of the Fairfax and SoHo stalwarts toward a come one, come all ethos. So you can only imagine the mood last weekend in Aspen, where the brand chose to fête its latest mountainside pop-up and new outdoors collectsion, launching this week online.

“If you have a heart, a brain, feelings, mental health is a part of your life,” said Mason Spector, one of Madhappy’s four co-founders of the brand’s guiding principle. Within their nuanced conversations across their podcast and Local Optimist hotline, today, they launch a collectsion underlining the benefits of being outdoors. “During the pandemic, everyone realized the value of being outdoors,” said another co-founder Josh Sitt of their decision to focus on a drop that would enhance time spent outside.

Attendees tumbled off of semi-private Aero jets from Los Angeles and Miami into the crisp mountain air for three days of sound baths, snow, and revelry. The collectsion of exceptionally plush hoodies and sweats, pastel-colored fleece pullovers, and more could be spotted all over the city.

In the morning, co-founders Noah and Peiman Raf and guests including Camille Kostek, Kirsty Godso, and Morgan Cohen shuffled down from their St. Regis hotel rooms—and out of Higher Dose infrared sauna blankets—in their slippers, Madhappy cashmere cardigans, and fair isle crewnecks for guided meditations with Jesse Israel of the Big Quiet and Jackie Cantwell on the sound bowls. Invited to let go and listen, they set forth on the city.

Singer Mustafa the Poet slid down Snowmass looking lighter than air in the brand’s new cloud-painted puffer and snow pants and Madhappy x CAPiTA snowboard with pal Anwar Hadid. At night, Elliot and Jessica Tebele, Deon Hinton, Caroline Jayna, Jack Gilinsky, Younes Benjamin, and more gathered around wintery ikebana tablescapes at Campo de Fiori, Matsuhisa, and Casa Tua for dinners and Lobos tequila cocktails. Conversations erupted in dancing when DJ Hank Korsan’s music became too intoxicating to ignore.

In the small hours of Sunday morning, the guests piled into the hotel’s elevator on their way home from the final party.
