Even with its unprecedented format, this year’s Grammys still managed to provide plenty of show-stopping red carpet fashions. And few attendees had as good a reason to get dressed up to the nines as Jhené Aiko, who entered the night with three nominations for her critically-acclaimed record Chilombo, including a nod for Album of the Year.
Working with stylist Casey “iCON” Billingsley as well as Xochitl West and Sebastian Hull of XS Studio, Aiko opted for a dramatic pink tulle gown by Monsoori with Sydney Evan jewelry for the main red carpet, before slipping into a slinky red custom Atelier Versace number. The latter was perfect for dancing the rest of the night away with her date for the evening, her long-time love and fellow musician Big Sean. Sean, meanwhile, stepped out looking suitably dapper in a tuxedo by Ermenegildo Zegna, complete with a sleek tasseled cape.
While Aiko missed out in her nominated categories this year, she was still more than happy to toast to her achievement of three major nods—even making a surprise discovery that she shared with Vogue. “Didn’t take home any Grammys, but I found some cash in my pocket,” she said, sharing a photo with a wedge of hundred dollar bills. Time to celebrate.
Below, join Aiko as she takes us behind the scenes of her very glamorous Grammys night out.
