Bridal Style Ruled at the 2023 Oscars

The 2023 Oscars proved that nobody can resist a wedding dress—not even A-listers who have plenty of opportunity to wear an extravagant gown. While some years hot pink or bright yellow emerge as the color du jour, for the 95th Academy Awards, celebrities like Michelle Yeoh, Rooney Mara, and Emily Blunt chose white. 

Sofia Carson and her diaphanous Giambattista Valli gown with a dramatic skirt were a harbinger of things to come. The drop-waist gown was certainly dramatic, which was paired with a Chopard necklace comprised of 122.49 carats of emeralds and 92.57 carats of diamonds. Michelle Yeoh’s feathered Dior was both classic and delicate. Rooney Mara chose a piece of fashion history for Hollywood’s biggest night: an archival fall 2008 Alexander McQueen dress. Ankle-length, with a tiny train and massive pedigree, it would undoubtedly make a statement. 

Bridal style may not have been the assignment tonight, but we’re here for it. Classically pretty and flattering with soft tulle and embellishments like feathers or embroidery? Heaven! The 2023 Oscars red carpet is sure to show up on many bride-to-be’s mood-boards.
