This season, designer-duo Paris Mitchell Temple and Georgia Cherrie use strong solid colors, like black and tomato red for their sensual architectural pieces. JULIA HEUER
Plissé print extraordinaire, Julia Heuer, amazes us yet again with her latest collectsion Diplomatic Tatanka. Bold geometric and floral patterns take on a dynamic nature through the movement of plissé pleats that bounce and move gracefully with the body. The collectsion features a ranging color palette—from saturated pastel pinks and greens to deep oranges and blues that swirl against a black backdrop, evoking a psychedelic scene in outer space.
KAPITAL
Kojima, Okayama is Japan’s hub for denim design and production and correspondingly, is the home to Japanese denim brand, KAPITAL. With expertise in vintage American manufacturing, KAPITAL takes the americana aesthetic to the next level with unmatched quality and unique details, like custom dyeing, patchwork and embroidery. This season’s selection makes a strong reference to grunge with smiley patches that recall Nirvana’s logo and casual pieces that are effortlessly cool.
HEREU
Mediterranean Spain is the root source of inspiration for designers José Luis Bartolomé and Albert Escribano of Hereu. They partner with local artisans to create pieces that recall styles and traditions of the past. Despite the nostalgia at the core of the brand’s ethos, Hereu’s pieces are modern and fresh, recalling the effortless chic of Phoebe Philo’s collectsions for Celine.
LIDO
Venetian lifestyle brand, Lido offers a minimal aesthetic for sporty-chic swimwear. Their timeless one piece suits look just as good tucked into wide leg pants and casual summer wear as they do on the beach and by the pool. The label’s name refers to an island in Venice’s lagoon, which was one of Europe’s first sea bathing facilities and also to the Italian saying for beach club. Lido produces their collectsions in northern Italy using the highest quality, sustainable and, whenever possible, recycled fabrics from high-quality mills.
