Julia Willis and Alexander Kummerow founded Herbivore Botanicals in 2011. Aesthetics, ethics and science collided first in the couple’s kitchen as they wanted to create a line of products that were tested on people, not on animals, and used organic, food-grade ingredients and natural essential oils. Herbivore Botanicals was born as the Seattle-based duo cut useless fillers and nasty synthetics out of the equation and replaced them with all-natural, concentrated ingredients. Look for French pink clay, Brazilian gemstones and intoxicating oils. Bonus points: you’ll want to keep these out on the bathroom counter as the packaging is just as refined.
