All Hands

All Hands is a collectsion of handbags inspired by life at sea (“all hands on deck” — get it?). Designer Jennifer Stilwell grew up with a ship captain for a father which meant long spells of her childhood were spent on boats; a theme that repeated itself in her adult life when — post-big breakup — she ditched her gig in the music industry and signed up to scrub anchor chains in Alaska, eventually leading to a position traveling the world with an artisan development fund. From there, Stilwell took an apprenticeship with a leatherworker in Argentina, then moving on to learn from a sample maker in London before starting her own line. Stilwell aims to keep everything in the collectsion small, creating only shapes she can sew by hand, with all pieces made entirely by hand.
