After the success of the first Sherpa XL, Italian shipyard Arcadia Yachts has introduced its successor – a 23.9 metres Sherpa XL. The second Sherpa XL is a perfect example of one of the shipyard\u2019s characteristic elements, such as closed volumes in the bow that allow the Owner and guests to enjoy convertible spaces in the stern.<\/p>\n

The interior of the Sherpa XL is designed by contemporary Milan-based Hot Lab design firm that offers a three- or a four-cabin layout. The three-cabin layout features the galley on the lower deck while in the latter it is set in the sky lounge. The design firm also uses new materials like colonial-essence oak and Light Grey Alpi to further valorise the spaces aboard.<\/p>\n

Sherpa XL smartly uses innovative glass panels that can be raised and closed by the touch of a button. \u201cThe use of the \u2018glass\u2019 element is not limited just to the windows. It becomes an integral part of the interiors,\u201d explains Enrico Lumini, Hot Lab\u2019s Head of Design. \u201cThe idea was to stress the different functions of the sky lounge by inserting materials that did not obstruct the view. Take for example the glass walls that separate the ‘jardin d\u2019hiver’<\/em>\u00a0from the wheelhouse: the depth of the visual field does not change, yet the flows of the crew and passengers can be separated when and if necessary.\u201d The presence of blinding systems guarantees a further level of privacy.<\/p>\n

The 7m beam of the hull can be adjusted as per needs of the owner. The sky lounge is equipped with a bar and pantry and can be easily transformed into an aft deck and the sun lounge. The\u00a0jardin d\u2019hiver\u2019<\/em>s roof houses the Arcadia\u2019s trademark solar panels that can produce 2kW of electricity. The lower deck features the master cabin that has a private bathroom. There are panoramic windows that extend down to the water line that ensure the best experience for the owner. The superyacht also houses two cabin with twin beds with bathrooms and a third cabin in case of the four-cabin layout. There is a separate section for the crew. Another distinguishing feature of the Sherpa XL is a side garage forward of the engine room that is large enough to house a tender of 4 metres in length. The transversal garage also acts as sound insulation between the engine room and the master cabin.<\/p>\n

Two IPS 1350 engine version power the Sherpa XL and can exceed a maximum speed of 23 knots. Its consumption levels, approximately 6.5 l\/nm at 12kn, are almost 30% lower compared to other yachts in the 85-90 feet segment. The estimated range is over 1,000 miles at 12 knots, rising to over 1,400 at a speed of 10 knots.<\/p>\n
