The Top 10 New Models of the Season Inline

(DNA)
As the season's quick-change artist, Sophia Ahrens set herself apart with her ability to tackle any concept. One minute she was a slinky sexpot at Versace, the next she was the picture of elegance at Dior and Céline. Ahrens disappeared into each of the season's archetypes, displaying a versatility that made her the most-booked newcomer. Number of shows walked is irrelevant unless a model has the right combination of personality and skill, both of which Ahrens possesses. On the runway, she displays poise beyond her years, looking like a seasoned vet, and off duty she carries herself with a graceful charm that has caught the eye of editors and street-style photographers alike. Given that Ahrens has already logged time with influencers Steven Meisel and Ashley Brokaw by appearing in Prada's Fall 2013 campaign, she's got a competitive edge. It will be exciting to see how she channels her chameleonic side once she starts appearing in magazines.

(Next)
If there were an award for Best First Impression this season, it would have to go to Lineisy Montero. Moments after walking down the Prada runway, Montero became a sensation and the face that launched a thousand think pieces and ignited a debate about natural hair within the fashion industry. Montero is more than just a hairstyle, she's a versatile and compelling new presence on the scene. With her high cheekbones, dimpled chin, and spray of freckles, Montero is a wholly original beauty who would stand out from the fray no matter how she was styled.

Every season has its designated cool girl and for Fall the honor goes to Astrid Holler. The Australian stunner opened Alexander Wang's goth-influenced show with swagger and went on to add a touch of chic everywhere she went. With a moody look and attitude to spare, Holler might just be the next Australian to hit the big leagues.

4/10Julia van Os
(Women)
Nothing beats a classic beauty and Julia van Os' glamorous looks hark back to the days of Cindy, Linda, and Naomi. While she wouldn't seem out of place in the '90s, there is still something modern about Van Os' allure that has made her a favorite of designers. Jason Wu, Prabal Gurung, and Tom Ford featured her prominently on their runways, while Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa even took to social media to post candid Polaroids.

(The Society)
Personality more than beauty is what keeps a model in the game, but it's always nice when a girl has the right combination of both. Amilna Estevão was unmistakable this season, whether on the runway for designers like Alexander Wang and Stella McCartney or backstage snapping selfies with the likes of Lady Gaga, Adriana Lima, and Cara Delevingne. There's no doubt that Estevão is a striking, one-of-a-kind beauty, but it's her cheerful demeanor and carefree attitude that have won her fans in and out of the business.

(DNA)
Pint-sized, pouty, and unlike anyone else on the runway, Stella Lucia automatically stands out. The Austrian beauty has already made an impact editorially, but this season she brought her sullen look to the runway, appearing everywhere from Alexander Wang to Alexander McQueen. The first designer to champion Lucia was Riccardo Tisci, who drafted her into the Givenchy army with an exclusive and a corresponding campaign. Lucia enjoyed a very selective set of shows in Spring, but now that she's available full time, designers are falling for her insouciant attitude and exaggerated features.

(DNA)
Reality stars-turned-models may be all the rage, but no one had ever made the jump from Top Model franchise to Balenciaga opener until Aamito Stacie Lagum came onto the scene. After representing Uganda on Africa's Next Top Model and winning the competition, Lagum was quickly signed to DNA Models, home of supermodels like Linda Evangelista and Natalia Vodianova. Though her first-season success has been overwhelming, the road to the top wasn't easy. Lagum overcame her mother's disapproval and Uganda's ingrained beauty standards. This season alone, she's found herself walking for Giles, Bottega Veneta, Hermès, and more.

(The Society)
Many models come into the industry without an understanding of fashion, but not Greta Varlese. As a passionate admirer of fashion, Varlese grew up admiring Adriana Lima and Mariacarla Boscono before following in their footsteps and walking the runway for Prada. For a girl with a deep appreciation for fashion and models, walking in shows like Vuitton and Miu Miu is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

(Next)
Already working up a storm in her native China, Yuan Bo Chao hit the international runways with a bang this season. With a look that is both doll-like and strong, Chao struck a chord with designers who favored originality, walking the runway for the likes of Karl Lagerfeld and Kenzo's Humberto Leon and Carol Lim. With her birthday hitting right in the middle of Paris fashion week, Chao celebrated by—what else?—strutting down the runway for Dior.

Photo: Indigitalimages.com10/10Bhumika Arora
(The Society)
At 27, Bhumika Arora is miles away from the stereotype of the preteen fashion model, having started after completing college. Arora's refined look has made her a favorite of designers like Olivier Rousteing and Marc Jacobs, and made her the first Indian high-fashion model since Lakshmi Menon to crack into modeling's upper echelon. Though the experience of fashion month is still new for her, Bhumika's confidence and poise make her one of the most exciting young women to watch on the catwalk.
