Rihanna and Zendaya Show Their Love for Queen & Slim at the Hollywood World Premiere

Guests found love in a hopeless place at the world premiere of Grammy-winning director Melina Matsoukas’s big-screen debut of Queen & Slim. No stranger to the dramatics (you can thank her for Queen B’s “Formation” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love” videos), Matsoukas confronts race and police brutality head-on with a modern-day love-on-the-run story written by Lena Waithe (Master of None) that starts innocently enough: a first date. Held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard, the story unfolds between Slim (played by Daniel Kaluuya of Get Out) and Queen (played by Jodie Turner-Smith of Nightflyers). A minor traffic stop derails their plans, igniting a series of high-octane events that forces the couple to go on the run to clear their names. After the film, guests like Rihanna, Zendaya, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Janelle Monáe continued the momentum at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for an after-party.

Queen & Slim makes a stunning debut in theaters on November 27.
