Designers, Editors, and More Made Their Way Out to Montauk for Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter’s Family-Style Dinner

"After a five-and-a-half-hour drive, I'm happy to be here!" joked Franciso Costa at last night's scenic dinner hosted by Net-a-Porter and Mr Porter. It has been over two years since Net hosted its last event, out East in Easthampton's most famous home Grey Gardens. The hiatus was, of course, due to the pandemic, and so the evening's host and Net-a-Porter president Alison Loehnis was thrilled to be able to gather everyone together again; this time, at Montauk's most scenic restaurant, Crow's Nest.

The invitation read A Family Dinner, and that's precisely how the evening unfolded. Over a cocktail hour on the lovely sloped lawn at Crow's Nest—which juts down to a beach that offers lovely sunset views where well-dressed patrons all congregate take in the view—a fashion-heavy crowd assembled. There was Wes Gordon, Veronica Miele Beard, Roxanne Assoulin, Indre Rockefeller, Nili Lotan, plus Cynthia Rowley and her daughter Kit Keenan. Everyone was happy to see each other.

The scene was casual—flat sandals and cotton eyelets stood in for stilettos and cocktail dresses and the stylish men in attendance donned linen pants and casual T-shirts and even jeans! Delanique Millwood opted for a PatBo dress in this season's favorite color, Nina Agdal wore a belly-baring dress that showed off the glorious potentials of her Agdal Method regime, while Loehnis wore a printed dress from British brand Anna Mason. "Every time I've ever been here, everyone's shoulders are down, they're having a really nice time and that's what I wanted for tonight," explained Loehnis. "Not to be in any way formal, but just a fun night."

Eventually, everyone made their way to a beautifully dressed dinner table. Semi-sphere table weights monogrammed with guest's name held town linen napkins. A dinner of roasted beets in a yogurt sauce and chicken kebabs was served. Midway through the meal, Costa delivered some remarks. "When I left Calvin Klein and started my own line of skincare, I didn't have a plan, but I thought, ok well, if Net-a-Porter sold my clothes, maybe they'll sell my skincare too!" explained Costa, of his long relationship with the luxury etailer. "And they did!" It was a remark that only reinforced the evening's invitation—a family dinner indeed.
