“I fell hard for Christelle Kocher’s Koché show—the clothes, the setting, the super-energizing soundtrack, especially Aamourocean’s ‘Cyan Teen,’ which played during the finale.”

“Abra’s ‘Roses XOXO’ heard at the J.W.Anderson show stood out for me. I love, love, love this track. It reminds me of all the U.K. dance music I grew up on in the late ’90s and early ’00s—soulful and melancholic.”

“When I arrived at Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, I was soaked to the skin and feeling grim. And then the original extended 12-inch version of Pet Shop Boys’s ‘Left to My Own Devices’ kicked in—with that fantastic, swoopy John Barry–esque intro—and I felt just fine.”

“Shows are wonderful venues for discovering new music. Zuly Bet’s playlist included a track by Malian singer Inna Modja, ‘Tombouctou,’ which I really liked. Even more so when I watched the video of this moving antiwar song, which was filmed in Malick Sidibé’s studio.”

“I Shazamed the song ‘Pilates’ by DonMonique at Alexander Wang’s show, and it was my go-to jam for the rest of the show season. That said, the highlight of Fashion Weeks, music-wise, had to be the Juice Newton playing at Mary Katrantzou—Lynn Yaeger and I were lip-synching along to the chorus of ‘Angel,’ much to Chioma Nnadi’s bemusement. We just couldn’t resist!”

The Jesus and Mary Chain’s ‘Taste of Cindy’ wasn’t a new discovery for me—Psychocandy, their best-known record and the one that contains that track, was a staple of my high school years—but it was a pleasant rediscovery. Libertine’s Fall show fell in the middle of a micro-blizzard, and despite the fact that I was soaked to the bone, hearing this song felt like getting a nice hug.”

“It seemed fitting that Virgil Abloh, designer-cum-DJ and youth culture clairvoyant, would select an alt cover of Madonna’s ‘Get Into the Groove’ from the Sonic Youth crew’s pseudonymous pet project, Ciccone Youth. Offbeat yet pitch-perfect vibes.”

“There was a little Madonna revival on the runway this season, and I loved it when Hood By Air wrapped up their show with the dramatic Like a Prayer–era ballad ‘Oh Father’ as Hirakish danced down the runway.”

“I really loved hearing ‘Take Me With U’ by Prince at Chloé—a feel-good throwback for a feel-good show.”
