It’s been a big start to the year for Harry Styles, dropping Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally, the long-awaited follow-up to his 2022 record Harry’s House, with a bang. And whether it’s for smashing marathon times (and what running shoe he chose to do it in) or showing off his matching couples style with partner Zoe Kravitz (The Row everything, usually), all eyes remain stuck to Styles and his…style. Stepping out for the Saturday Night Live cast dinner in New York ahead of his weekend appearance on the show, his choice of bag has cemented one more thing: Harry Styles is another Chanel boy-in-waiting.
The pop star popped out of his car in Midtown, New York in a casual fit, quite textbook Styles: a navy crewneck sweater with a white t-shirt underneath, straight-leg blue jeans, and favorite black penny loafers from The Row. Accessories were also pretty laid-back—angular dark sunglasses and a black-strapped Cartier Tank Louis watch—until his bag came into view, slung casually over his shoulder. The bag in question? A pony hair, leopard-print flap Chanel bag, nabbed from look 44 at Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel Metiers d’art show in New York. On the runway, it was styled with a silky mustard shirt and trouser set, with a long and tweedy check coat. Styles shows the scope of a statement bag, adding easy flair to a low-key look.
It’s already been quite the year for it-boys and their it-bags: There’s Jacob Elordi and his suite of Bottega Veneta, Fendi, and Burberry bags in every size, shape, and weave going. Timotheé Chalamet has picked up a habit for borrowing Kylie Jenner’s mini Kelly, and A$AP Rocky is very much in his Chanel bag era like Styles, while also being spotted toting gargantuan Louis Vuitton bags (Rihanna’s influence) and chic Celine luggage. Styles has long been a proponent of a chic carry-all: he’s got a well-loved banana-shaped cross-body by The Row, a Gucci Jackie, and a Bottega Veneta padded cassette bag.
But 2026 looks set to be the real year of the Chanel boy—and finally! The aforementioned Jacob Elordi wore a checked, cropped Chanel jacket from the spring 2026 ready-to-wear collectsion—a classic shape and style for the brand—while on the Wuthering Heights press trail. (He has the classic flap bag, too.) Rocky, who was officially announced as a Chanel house ambassador in late 2025 under Blazy, first stepped out in head-to-toe Chanel reworked from the runway for his frame that same year: he wore a green tweedy suit jacket with tomato red buttons, suit trousers, and slip-on leather shoes with a matching red flap bag. Earlier this year on date night with Rihanna, he opted for an embroidered graphic women’s jacket from Blazy’s debut Metiers d’Art 2026 show, paired with a white t-shirt under a red v-neck sweater, blue jeans with a statement crystal buckle belt, red Oxford shoes, and Ray-Bans. Timothée Chalamet, too, has worn Chanel in the past on the red carpet, but that’s also been womenswear.
Styles, who is styled by Harry Lambert, chose Chanel for his recent appearance at the Brits, where he wore a black-and-white bouclé pinstripe jacket with matching trousers, a pale mint pinstripe cotton shirt, and custom Chanel ballet flats. (A.K.A. look 39 from Chanel’s Métiers d’art 2026 collectsion, originally worn by Alex Consani.)
While the late Karl Lagerfield had a selection of male muses (Brad Kroenig and Baptiste Giabiconi walked his runways), an official foray into the menswear space never came to fruition. With Styles, Elordi, Rocky, and Chalamet backing it, Chanel Pour Homme looks to be firmly in sight. Et tu, Matthieu Blazy? What say you?
